JennyB
Loretta
Carolyn
Sings: Alto, aka Creamy Nuance
Singing sweet spot: E-G
What made you start singing? I’ve loved to sing ever since I went to church as a kid. Then I did my first musical in 9th grade and I was hooked!
Favorite showtune: River Won't Flow from Songs for a New World
Favorite breakfast: Biscuits and sausage gravy with 2 eggs over easy
Favorite chocolate: Lindt 70% with sea salt
What makes you very Seattle: I throw out my food waste in biodegradable trash bags (into my yard waste bin for pick up)
Secret passion or collection: Do I have any that are secret?
Say something (nice!) about the other two gals: I can’t think of anyone I would rather make music with. They are talented musicians, creative collaborators, and they have excellent taste in wine and cheese!
After ten years...what keeps the Ladyhood interesting for you? There is still so much music we want to do!!
What's your dream gig for the Ladyhood? The Triple Door (or should I dream bigger?)
Sings: Soprano II, aka Gospel Fire
Singing sweet spot: Favorite Note - B-flat
What made you start singing? Just that my mom and my grandfather were both singers and I thought it was fun!
Favorite showtune: Sadie, Sadie from Funny Girl or anything from Ragtime
Favorite breakfast: My dad used to make me the best French Pancakes in the world...loved them!
Favorite chocolate: Any dark chocolate that's not too bitter - I'm kinda a Godiva chick!
What makes you very Seattle: I am a waterfront walker and I cherish our sunny days like they're gold!
Secret passion or collection: Cherished Teddies - I have a rotating monthly display at home.
Say something (nice!) about the other two gals: Carolyn has a great smile and is always optimistic about everything we do. JennyB has got an ear for "our sound" and makes our arrangements work.
After ten years...what keeps the Ladyhood interesting for you?New music, new gigs. There is always something new to learn and new people to meet in the world!
What's your dream gig for the Ladyhood? To be on the bill at the Triple Door in Seattle. Once I get that one, I'll get a bigger dream.
Sings: Soprano I, aka Angelic Purity
Singing sweet spot: Above high C
What made you start singing? Singing by the piano with my mom, starting around age 3.
Favorite showtune: It Sucks to Be Me from Avenue Q
Favorite breakfast: Protein style! Steak 'n' eggs!
Favorite chocolate: Green & Black's 85%
What makes you very Seattle: I love the rain!
Secret passion or collection: Cameos, as in the jewelry. I wear one every day.
Say something (nice!) about the other two gals: Lo puts so much creative thought into our direction and performance, and keeps our professional standards so high. Jenny keeps our bar high musically - rhythmically and tonally. They both give me a lot to live up to.
After ten years...what keeps the Ladyhood interesting for you? New projects, new ideas, and the unexpected - like going to a gig that you expect to be pretty quiet, and it ends up being the funnest gig ever.
What's your dream gig for the Ladyhood? Touring the European capitals would be nice!
